One Piece Question: Will Luffy ever be able to control Gear 2nd without any side affects?

Yeah he will have a better control of it and he will develop new powers so 2nd gear wont be his last resort and side effects will continue for while for you but it will decrease to put a example for you without spoiler it will be like goku s kaioken at first when he used it against vegeta it had a very hight damage on goku but later when he fought with freezer it didn t had the side effect like when he first used it. So something like that will be for luffy and also don t worry luffy isn t at all weak and you will see when you get to the actual episodes that are airing
