Anyone know a good gun for my character in my new novel?

I've got a main character Tessa, she commands lightning through her body, and I wanna give her a firearm that is small, portable, looks powerful and is powerful (She adds lightning and her bullets go even faster). I saw a Colt M1911, but that gun is used way to much in the media, does anyone know of any other gun(s) that would be good to use for my character?
